Plein Air At Fox Hill Farms

I went out to Fox Hill Farms to paint this morning. Typically from this spot you can see all the way to Mount Evans, however the smoke from the Durango fire created a haze covering the view.

I completed two 6” x 6” paintings that focused on the rows of trees that recessed down the drainage. This time of year, the greens lean more strongly in either the yellow or blue direction.

I tried to keep the palette fairly warm by mixing the colors with red. Also, made a conscious effort to compress the values and keep the overall painting fairly high key.

These two paintings are for sale and available in my shop.
