The Artist Journey
Michael's History and Love for Art
His love for art started as a gift from his mother, who introduced him and his brothers to the dynamic art scene in New York. During the winter months, she took them on regular trips to the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, where, amid the vast collections, he had his first taste of how art could open up worlds.
Summers were no different. She filled their time with art festival after art festival. With every visit and each piece of art, a spark ignited in Michael, and a deep-seated fascination stirred within him.
He began to realize these weren't just outings; these were the first steps toward a calling.
These humble seeds of experience shaped, nurtured, and guided his creativity today. With a passion and a fresh lens, he meticulously creates contemporary Western artworks that transcend the canvas.

A Word From Michael
Every artist’s journey is marked with challenges; mine was no exception. Early on, one of the biggest hurdles I encountered was discovering my unique voice amidst the vast sea of artistic expression.
It was about more than just mastering the brush; it was about figuring out the story I wanted to tell through my art.
The beautiful expanse of the western skies, the profound spiritual connection they evoke, the wistful sense of nostalgia, and the tranquil peace they offer — these were the themes I felt drawn to explore. Wrestling with these concepts and how to convey them visually was daunting but immensely rewarding. Overcoming this challenge didn’t just help me find my voice; it shaped me into the artist I am today.
It taught me the importance of having something meaningful to say and the power of art to communicate that message.
